GrantlandNetwork gets a big boost in viewership from a 30-episode series ranking NBA teams before the season.
THE WHY
The Grantland channel has become a popular sports destination, but in recent months their numbers had flattened out. Enter Bill and Jalen's 2013 NBA Preview, a simply-made, short-run series in which a former player and a legendary sports writer predict how NBA teams will fare in 2013-14. The show has reinvigorated viewership on the channel: Individual viewers have watched more videos than ever before (thanks in part to well-designed, numbered thumbnails that help the audience navigate between episodes) and they're also watching 1.5 minutes longer than the channel's average view duration. The twice-daily uploads have super-charged the channel's audience right before the NBA season.
