One of the greatest most challenging journeys you'll ever go on is seeing what your body is capable of. Maybe you are in shape, completely out of shape, or merely expecting to lose some weight. However, developing a body you can be proud, one that is very healthy, and permits you to really adore every last tiny inch of it really is a dazzling journey to travel down.

So what is the secret to making an enduring change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table each day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you will become lackadaisical and daunted by the task at hand. Instead, understand you are contesting with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But every single time you do, you must come back with a dedication to achieving something you really wanted. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field each and every day. Without it, you'll suffer the the inescapable reality of many new years resolutioners who give up each and every single year on developing the body of their dreams because they are missing the power to keep on coming back repeatedly timeand again.

Commitment also is evoked, although not the commitment you're probably thinking of in this case. In our world, we are fed this strong idea that everything must take place at this time and if it doesn't occur now, it is not worth it. Your body is going to drastically change throughoutthe years, so why don't you make a lifetime commitment to staying healthy? Is that an attractive sellable idea? Not particularly. But is it something that might actually change the course of your life? Absolutely.

When you make a pledge to keeping your body healthy throughout your whole life, you'll eventually reach whatever goal you wish. It's about seeing the bigger picture than merely the few months in front of you until the summer. It's about developing something you can be pleased with forever. For me, that concept changed the course of my life as I was able to finally hit my fitness goals after 12 years of wrestling with my body image and food issues. But as soon as I changed my world view of what I was trying to accomplish, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it works for you. Make a lifetime and relentless commitment to keeping healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term also.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all facets of your life, and things will change radically.
